For e-commerce sellers

Stock in. COGS out.
Margin, monthly.

You sell across Shopify, Stripe, maybe Amazon. Stock moves constantly. VAT gets complicated. Generic accounting software wasn't built for this — Ledgers tracks inventory at weighted-average cost, posts COGS on every sale, and surfaces true per-SKU margin you can actually trust.

The problem

Most e-com sellers don't know their margin.

You see top-line revenue from Shopify, you see bills from suppliers, you don't see what either really meant for profit. COGS gets posted as one round number at year-end (if at all). By then any pricing call is two quarters late.

What was COGS this month?

Old way

Estimate. Or wait for the year-end accountant.

With Ledgers

Auto-posted on every sale at the SKU's weighted-avg cost. P&L shows real gross margin within hours.

How much stock do I actually have?

Old way

Spreadsheet that lies. Or count at midnight.

With Ledgers

Live qty on hand per SKU, value at avg cost on every dashboard. Stock-in / sale / write-off as movements.

Which SKUs are losing money?

Old way

You don't know until quarterly review (or ever).

With Ledgers

Margin per SKU surfaces in Insights when it goes negative. Caught before you reorder the dud.

Shopify payout doesn't match my invoices.

Old way

Spend an hour matching the payout to fees, refunds, tips.

With Ledgers

Stripe/Shopify payouts auto-reconcile against multiple orders + fees + refunds. The mismatch becomes one line.

VAT on multi-channel — am I doing this right?

Old way

Pray. Or pay a specialist.

With Ledgers

VAT scheme + rate per SKU. Reverse charge handling for EU. Quarterly return prepared with anomaly checks.

The Stripe USD payment came in £, but at what rate?

Old way

Read the Stripe dashboard, transcribe, hope you got the right line.

With Ledgers

Multi-currency on Scale. Real conversion rate captured + FX gain/loss posted automatically.

What you get

Built for product businesses.

📦

Inventory at weighted-avg

Stock receipts update qty + avg cost. Sales post COGS at current avg. Adjustments + write-offs flagged + JE'd. No annual stock-take spreadsheet horror.

💵

COGS on every sale

The moment an invoice flips to paid, COGS posts: Dr COGS / Cr Inventory at the current avg cost. Gross profit accurate, monthly, automatically.

🌍

Multi-channel + multi-currency

Stripe payouts, Shopify reports, Amazon settlements — all reconciled against your books. Scale tier handles USD / EUR with proper FX accounting.

📊

Margin per SKU + per channel

Insights surface your dog SKUs and your hero SKUs. Cancel the dogs, double down on heroes — with data, not vibes.

🧾

VAT across schemes

Cash or accrual basis. Multi-rate (standard, reduced, zero, exempt). EU reverse charge. Quarterly 9-box prepared, you sign off.

📸

Receipt OCR for supplier bills

Photo a paper receipt or forward a supplier email, AI extracts everything, drafts a bill. Two taps to filed.

What we don't do (yet)

We're not your warehouse.

Inventory tracking in Ledgers is at the accounting layer: qty + avg cost + JE posting. For SKU-level fulfilment, bin locations, kitting, dropshipping, multi-warehouse — keep your dedicated tool (Linnworks, Cin7, Katana). We import the movements and post the accounting.

What we do plug into

  • ✓ Stripe (payments, payouts, refunds)
  • ✓ Shopify (orders + payouts via Stripe)
  • ✓ Wise (multi-currency)
  • ✓ UK banks via TrueLayer
  • · Amazon (CSV import; native planned)
  • · Linnworks / Cin7 (CSV import; native planned)
Pricing for e-commerce

Most product businesses go
Growth or Scale.

E-com creates a lot of transactions — every Shopify payout is multiple lines, every Stripe charge is fees + refunds. Growth (£79, 400 txns) suits early stores. Scale (£179, 1,000 txns) suits established sellers with multi-currency. Custom for groups doing 2,500+/mo across entities.

Replaces Xero (£32) + A2X (£19+) + Dext (£12) + bookkeeper (£300+) = £360+/mo dropping to £79–179.
